Immigration in Hospitalet: which office for which procedure

We're based in Hospitalet and work with clients across the Barcelona area. Here's what you need to know about the offices handling your case.

Where each thing gets done

Not everything is resolved at the same office

It's the most common mistake: the office that resolves your arraigo or residency application isn't the same one that books your fingerprint appointment or hands you your card.

Immigration Office (resolves your application)

Arraigo, residency and most authorization applications are resolved at the Immigration Offices in Barcelona city (Passeig de Sant Joan, 189 or Carrer de Múrcia, 42), not in Hospitalet.

Most of these procedures are filed online; an in-person appointment is only needed in specific cases.

L'Hospitalet Police Station (fingerprints and TIE)

For fingerprinting, collecting your card (TIE), or renewing it, the police station at Rambla Just Oliveras, 43, in Hospitalet, usually has more appointment availability than the offices in central Barcelona.

It's a genuine alternative to Rambla Guipúscoa in Barcelona city for this specific procedure.

Hospitalet Town Hall (municipal registration)

The empadronamiento certificate, essential to prove how long you've lived here, is requested at the Hospitalet de Llobregat Town Hall itself, not at any immigration office.

Cita previa

How to book one without wasting hours

Booking an appointment is free, and always has been — be wary of any service that charges you just to get you one.

Go to the official electronic headquarters
  1. 1Go to the official electronic headquarters (sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es), under immigration appointment booking.
  2. 2Choose the province of Barcelona and the exact procedure you need — each one has its own calendar.
  3. 3Identify yourself with your NIE, or your passport if you don't have one yet.
  4. 4If there's nothing available, don't give up: time slots are released in batches at specific times, not continuously.

Our office is at Calle Sevilla 3, in Hospitalet itself — a short walk from the Rambla Just Oliveras police station.
